Darn it, willard. My shoulder's been hurting ever since I looked at this thread at noon.

I told a guy last night about it and he proceeded to tell me his rotator cuff was torn and "it only hurts when I do this". As he reached over his head I thought he was going to fall over in pain.

I sincerely hope that you told him

"Well, don't DO that! . . "

Learn to play your guitar with your feet like that guy with no arms in the video that was going around a while back. Just remember to wipe down the neck afterwards.

He might get sued for practicing medicine without a license. We pay them the big bucks to have them tell us not to do stuff.

I hate bringing up old threads but...today's the day. I'm going under at 10:30 this morning. To try and get both sides of the fence here, those who do, please say some prayers, those who don't, wish me luck.
Thanks,

Having surgery at any time is never really something to look forward to. I had surgery twice when I was 10 years old. After the first time I was hoping that it was only going to happen once. The recovery was a new experience. I spent Christmas and New Years in the hospital. The second time I knew what was ahead of me. Just before I was given anesthesia I spoke to the surgeon. I told him the sooner he gets started the sooner I can get out of there.
The main thing is to stay optomistic. That will help your recovery.

Good Luck
Phil

I had an infection in my right elbow. I had surgery on it to clean it out and was put on a bundh of morphine and antibiotics. the next week I went to the namm show. the doctor told me to take it easy.

well I went over to moody's house and played guitar for a while and that set me back for a couple of months.

moral of the story. do what the doctor tells you and stay away from moody.

Get well soon, Willard. Not much of a Valentine's Day for you. A gal in the office had shoulder surgery a few months ago. Blew out her shoulder skiing. She was gimpy for a few months, but did her PT and exercises and is skiing again this year.

Sorry to hear about your accident Willard. Heal well ... and fast!

If that was really you on the photograph, I must say that's a very nice 12-string you're playing. :) That photograph is worth more than a thousand words, than that stupid advertisement on the magazine where a man was pictured playing a Blueridge at the summit of Mt. Everest. And I mean it in a very positive way.

Again, feel better.
