I don't know if you americans have heard of Billy Thorpe, but he's an Aussie legend.

He spent a lot of time living in the 'States and I wondered if any of you have heard of him?

His most famous song was "Most People I Know, Think That I'm Crazy" - a great acoustic rock song.

And he was a great bloke. RIP.

"Children of the Sun" was one of my favorite songs of the time.....and then a few years later....

There was a local club of ill repute that had a beautiful girl who danced to it....and it was a long song! :D

He certainly was a legend of Oz music. When the Beatles landed in 1964, he was # 1 on the charts.

He could be a feisty little bloke.I once had a run in with him but I always respected the guys talent.

One thing people forget is that he was an excellent guitarist.

Rich, you've played Tommy's guitar and had a run in with Billy.

You sure you're not famous?

Any other claims to fame?

I don't think anyone would think that.
They're interesting stories.
Keep em coming.

I used to think "Children of the Sun" was a Rush song. One of my favorite songs for a long time.
RIP and thanks Billy

I hear that song at least once a week on our local radio station.

Sad to read.
