Somewhere I found a free program called EasyChord. It is download-able, and I got it on my desktop. It comes in handy if you wanna know just what a C7sus4(8th fret) looks like.

Oh, and I found it. In case someone wants it. Of course, there will always be something that it doesn't have, but I find this useful. And you don't have to be online.

Yeah Showtime... I decided to actually really learn some songs, since there aren't so many guitar circles in the rain in PDX. And that comes in handy when a chord sheet sez Asus4. And I go... What? Then I look it up, and say Oh! I do that, I just don't call it that. (I don't call it anything, it's a halfa-sorta A chord.)

I like that JGuitar one. I'm always trying to figure out what I'm playing.

QUESTION--anybody here learn their chords by "degrees" (e.g.: I, III, V, VII) instead of by "Key Notes?"

Not learn them but write out the sone using the I, IV, V etc. It's called the Nashville number chart system. I think it goes I, ii, iii, IV, V vi, vii. The caps are major and the smalls are minor.

Here's a link on the Nashville Numbering System.

Nashville Numbering System.

I've never used it much.

...I'm not referring to the Nashville Method of annotating chords, but rather the method of identifying chord NOTES.

I prefer this site for finding chords and especially for identifying chords I've been playing:

http://www.guitarchordsmagic.com/guitar-chord-finder.html

You can click on strings/frets on the fretboard to build chords or find chord shapes. Clicking on the nut will select an open string or delete it.
