Joined: July 2002 Posts: 1900 | That was my next question whether it was sold or veneer/laminate. A no-brainer I guess because of the stress assocated with a 12-string application. But I don't remember hearing of a solid walnut top for 6 strings either. Probably not considered a good top/tone-wood?.. | ||

Joined: July 2002 Posts: 1900 | Apparently it's rather difficult, cost-prohibitive, or otherwise impossible to make a solid guitar top from certain woods. So, the woods that are used as veneers are done for the visual asthetics, not the acoustic qualities. | ||

Joined: January 2002 Posts: 14127 Location: 6 String Ranch | Don't let it take on too negative a spin. All Adamas guitars are panelmasters by this definition so keep that in mind. Just that the real rare and exotic woods aren't strong enough to abe a solid top. Many wouldn't sound good anyway. The 3 ply top has a real good sound and they are all plugable anyway. Going toe to toe with a prewar D-18 or 28 they will loose, but that wasn't the intension of these anyway. | ||
