Yeah Neil Young is on that list if I remember right. I like Neil Young, I play his music all the time..... but Lead???? You gotta be kidding me.....Like BB king, Neil really can get a lot of sound out of one note the difference is he has to, he can only play one or two notes in a lead for any song and you would'nt want to use both of them them up right a way.

I hate list's like this there are so many ways to judge one guitarist against another. It is all apples and oranges, Style, Speed, Emotion, technique, body of work, you just can't ask a question like this and expect a list that has any merit.

Fun to read though.

Randy

i can't say i even remember this very well, and it probably qualifies more as blues, but i had a video i copied off of tv years ago of hendrix playing a 12 string acoustic. not blinding brilliance but a side of hendrix many don't associate with him. my wife recorded something like masterpiece theater over it (grrrr). has anyone seen that or have a copy of it?

i found the old jimi footage on youtube and it wasn't as good as i remembered it. still a different side of jimi and maybe a statement about the difference between acoustic and electric "ability". i surprise myself once in awhile with my electric and synth rig, but seldom playing acoustic. signal processing accounts for allot of perceived virtuosity imho, at least to the non discerning listener.

That was a terrible list in my opinion. IF steve and joe are #29 and thirty, then the list if void and null.
