I found a very nifty Planet Waves string winder with integrated wire cutter. Needle nose plyers. Couple of sets of strings. In addition to the regular gig stuff: Assorted cables, couple of mics, power strip, straps, harmonicas and holder, flashlight, floor tuner, etc, etc, etc.

One set of spare strings (acoustic, 12, electric) multi tool with hex wrenches and screwdrivers, string winder (integrated cutter), duster, capos (6, 12, plus non-radius'ed for nylon), brass slide, and £20 (about $40) emergency cash. All from memory. I've impressed myself. JB

Joined: February 2007 Posts: 29 Location: Wheeling, WV | well what constitutes a toolbox, as bill clinton would say. the toolbox in my van contains pretty much all of the above, including tripplet voltmeter, soldering iron, etc.......but that van may end up in a totally different town than i wake up in. so....since my main axe travels with me, and stays in the same room with me, it contains the essentials that every guitar player should have, condoms, KY jelly, and a few picks just in case you want to strum her a few tunes before you high-tail it outta there the next morning.....anyway, this thread is semi hypothetical, but for the most part..true,, Let me hear your responses, guys, folks, etc.................JP

People start seeing you as the source for strings, batteries, connectors, etc. It's amazing how many musicians show up at gigs without any backup for anything, and are totally lost when something breaks.
