Location: Portland, OR | So I have an 1867 that is cracked down the middle, the bridge is broken off.. it needs some work. I just replaced it with a 2078 that I'm still waiting on, any day now. Anyway, I've always wanted to learn classical and have a nylon string guitar to play as well. I read on the ovation site that legends can be strung with either strings, and am wondering if anyone has experience w/ a nylon legend.. Is it worth the price of getting it fixed, or will the 300-500 be better spent on a more 'traditional' classical guitar? Its the super shallow bowl too, so wondering how nylon strings might sound on that. I just loved that guitar, and would be phsyched to have it ressurected as a psuedo classical guitar if it will be worth it. |

Location: ranson,wva | if the legend is braced for steel string the nylons more than likly wont have enough mass to drive the top...if you want a nylon string ovation i would recomend a 1624 country artist...ive got 2 1624's and they realy shine plugged in. the sound is thing un plugged but thats the price you pay with a artist depth bowl....jason |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I'd recommend the 1713. It has a 12 fret neck, cedar top and deep bowl. Puts out more sound than the 1624. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I know. I shouldn't brag, but I got my mint 1713 for the low end of his price range. My 1624 was cheaper, with a case, but it has seen some better years. |

Location: ranson,wva | i paid a bit more for my 1983 country artist but it is a soild 9 1/2 out of 10....after playing it for a few weeks and going tru a few different string sets and a setup ive decided it was worth what i paid....jason |
