Are there any keyboard experts out there that can give me some good recommendations for a superior keyboard for our worship band? We have been talking about replacing the old Clavinova. The only model that has sparked my interest so far is the Kog Triton Extreme. Any other thoughts or suggestions? |

Depends what your budget is, but the Triton Extreme is a LOT of keyboard. Unless you're doing a lot of sampling and onboard sequencing I would think it's way overkill for a church band. I've got the Korg Triton LE 76 which is basically the same unit without a lot of the bells and whistles. The sound engine is the same, which is the important thing. It was about $1300. and I highly recommend it.

Location: Midland, MI | I had a Yamaha Motif 8 that was fantastic. Sold it to a church down in Royal Oak a couple of years ago. The Korg Triton series are nice, too. If you're just looking for good piano sounds, though, the Yamaha P90 was highly regarded. I don't know if they've released any models after that (my knowledge of things keyboard stops about two or three years ago). |

I got it because a friend of mine fought with his wife and she ordered him to dispose of a bunch of his intruments, so I promised to give it good home. I wish he played the guitar. Anyhow ...
I'd go with either a yamaha or a korg. Not really sure what your looking for, or how much you have to spend, what speakers you have, but remember to factor in weight and size.
With its case my korg weighs 50 lbs. A monster. I had to put wheels on the case. |

Location: Poplar Bluff Mo | I bought a Casio WK 3700 (yes Casio) for my jazz band this year because of the great reviews it received in keyboard magazine.My guys actually like it better than our Kurzweil PC 88 plus it's about 100 pounds lighter. This is the most keyboard for the buck you can buy imho. You can find them for $399.00, hey buy two and you'll have a spare.
