The top, bowl, suspension ring, sound port and neck attachment are all different than W597 so I think they might sound somewhat different. This isn't the best sounding guitar I own (although it's damn nice), but it definately is the coolest looking in my opinion. could it sound much different than a W597 and, if so, why? Dave

You wouldn't pay for a custom shop guitar like this because you liked the electronics. I did play around briefly with the VIP thing. Seems to work just fine. But for me it wouldn't matter if it had no electronics at all. Dave

Enquireing minds want to know. . Can't a bone saddle somehow be stained black? . That shiney surface sure shows off the geometry of the contour bowl nicely.

The flex ring seems to make the top independant and more able to move, generating sound. The Adamas site has some graphics on it.

And my 4861 SSB with a wood top sounds better... Or at least different.) And I play them all au natural. I only plug 'em in to annoy the neighbors. [kidding, maybe]
