Old's not that bad a think. That's some of the tastiest guitar playing I've heard in a long time. It's the kind of playing that comes from maturity and age....

That clip comes from a phenOMenal DVD "David Gilmour - Live". HIGHly recommended!

(btw; the Ovation is strung "Nashville", and that tune is the only song it appears on on the DVD. The rest (acoustic-wise, any way) is with a Taylor. sorry.

Some drunk redneck strung it.

That's a nice O. And yeah, all of us are getting old and gray. What're you young bucks gonna do when we're not here to show you the way?

See now if Dave had a VXT, he wouldn't have to keep swapping guitars during this song!

". . Gilmour is playing was the very guitar he used on the original recording . ."

You are correct, Sir.

Jason;
"Nashville" is stringing the G,D,A and low E with "octave" string (like from a 12-string set) the B & E stay the same.

Makes it sound "bright" & "shimmery" . . .

The guy reading the lyrics isn't the original singer. That's Robert Wyatt from the SoftMachine, who was the promoter of the festival that the show was from. There's yet another version of the same song on the DVD with Bob Geldoff singing the Roger Waters part . . . ironically, holding a lyrics sheet, as well :D

The DVD opens with a really cool acoustic version of "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond" . . .
