This I think means that "hands" focus on technique, "head" on music theory, and "ears" is the music you make (and hear). Started playing slide just a few days ago and believe I focus more on my ears with the slide than normal playing. I think I've often been to concerned with technical and theoretical problems of the playing to really listen to the music. (or maybe to bad a player to make music at all) Does anyone else have opinions on this matter?

Maybe I try to play to complicated stuff, or am to bad at playing. I play,(guitar), with my ears and heart. As for the title I tried to edit it, since i realised it will move the thread sideways, but it was to late!

But being one who has played for a long time, mostly just as a hobby and by myself, and having only recently begun playing with other people on a regular basis, the ability to listen to what you are playing is one of the most important aspects of creating "music". Opening your ears and letting them control your hands is what makes music flow.
