By the time we're finished the sweat is literally dripping from the top of my 1860 not to mention my forehead. I usually give my guitar a polish whenever I put new strings on but I'm wondering if I should be doing it more frequently now. I just give it a bit of a wipe over when I'm finished and put it back in the case. I'm also very close to the coast. The beach is just across the road so we get a fair bit of salt in the air. Is my case enough to protect it or is there something else I should be using. I've been using Dr Stringfellows Lem-Oil to polish the guitar and I've had the bottle for a few years now as I only need a bit at a time. Does this stuff have an expiry date or is it OK to use it until it's all gone?

The only concern that I might have is how much salt is in the air and your sweat... What I'm saying is don't wipe the wood down with a really dry hard cloth, cuz the salt may scratch the finish. Otherwise, I guess it's humid enough...

Being uneducated in these matters I went ahead and bought it. I think he was a work experience kid. I'm glad to be able to come here and get some advice from people who know.

I'm still on a lowly dial up system here so I've just finished watching that "groovy" clip. Is it true that the bass player went on to become the Canadian P.M. :confused:In a TRUE garage band, being in tune is just a suggestion. When in doubt, replay Loiue Loiue . His son Ben's the 'famous' one now. One of those TV hosts who keeps popping up and no one knows quite why they're famous.......
