I just got my 1858LX and was wondering if there are any other people here with the same or similar guitar. I haven't seen many listed in the signatures.

Regards,

Tom

I didn't want to leave your inquiry unanswered Doc. I have the 6 string version of the 1858, the 1868.
I know a lot of the members here aren't huge fans of the super-shallow bowls, but I love playing mine, plugged in or unplugged, it's got a bright, clean sound and it's super comfortable.
I've posted a few pics in the members area.

Tom - you must do yourself the favor of getting to one of the get-togethers and, if you can get it in, the annual Tour. You'll play some outstanding guitars, meet some fine people and have a ton of fun in the process. YGBT.

I have an 1858 but it's not an LX. Bought it new in '03. It sounds pretty good unplugged considering it's SS. It is really comfy to play. I pretty much consider it an electric guitar. If I'm going to play where I need more acoustic sound I take the Pacemaker.

Weaser P,

Thank you . I would love to but the realities of my life are that I'm already over committed; just like every body else !! However, I will try to stay engaged here and hopefully in the future I'll be able to attend one of the events.

Regards,

Tom

"Over committed"

I think we all understand that. And I guess understanding the issue is half the battle, eh? Most here are still at that "should be committed" stage. ;)

Nils,

Thank you. Beautiful guitar. That was the model of the guitar that I originally had before I realized it was supposed to be an LX model. I loved that model also. I love the shallow bowl because it's so comfortable to play. Most of the time I'm playing my acoustics plugged in but I also love the sound of the 1858 unplugged.

Regards,

Tom
