| From user terranaomi , winner of Youtube's 1st video award for best music video, she's playing a Legend cutaway also seen in several vids on her profile page . Saw her on the Today show this morning, she says she's signed a recording contract. Kaman needs to get her under contract! |

i think that youtube will be the dominant force behind the discovery of talent and recording contracts in the future. "american idol" will pale in comparison to the power of youtube, in my opinion. |

I thought a few years back the record companies were getting wise and starting to promote actual songwriters again (Michelle Branch, etc.) but so far they're still just recycling Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston wannabes. |
