I've been PM'ing back and forth with two different people simultaneously about the specifics on the top on this guitar, and the best I can do is an "Edumacated Guesstimate", so I figured I'd pose the question to "d'Boss" (no, NOT the f@ckwit from AsburyPark!) for the definitive answer . . .

Bill;
What is "the story" to the top on this guitar:

I've been stating that it's a "textured top", but it's not quite like one I've seen on another guitar (except the 12). It's "kinda" like the top on my SlotHead, but it's "not". It's "kinda" like the top on a UTE, but it's "not".

The top doesn't have that longitudinal "corduroy" finish like the Slot, and it doesn't have that fabric-like texture to it. The texture's made up of little close-knit, circular "indentations" that cover the entire top. Was this style of top used on other models?

Any light you can shed regarding this top (along with any other details you might have regarding this guitar) would be appreciated.

Yeah, but it's just the internet. It doesn't count.

While you're up I have questions about a certain "Phenolic" material. But Cliff has first dibs.

Yeah, Woodster;
I know the guitar you're referring to.

Good Call.

(I tried finding a pic of it from last year, but couldn't find a "clear shot" of it . . .)

It's on the OFC dvd in the photo section at Stonge's house. It's the one guitar in CT that I regularly think that I'd like to steal and take back to CA...

It was just a regular Adamas top, the textured Ad1 type that they were making at the time of that guitar. I think that guitar was pre all the SMT and other models. I thought Silver would be a nice finish. My mandochella is silver too as you'll remember.
So tell them that this top was specifically made to accept the silver mini chromium plattes that actually enhance the fibrational charistics of the finish as a function of the top sign-wave vibrations vis-a-vie the adirondack spruce bracing. When they start giving you the RCA dog look you know you've gotten through.
