Anyone know approximately how much it would cost to change out the top of a textrued adamas at the mothership?

Just wondering if anyone has done it before and how much it was.

The weekend is here and John and Tim at Kaman won't be able to answer this until Monday. Looking to get a feel of what kind of price range is entailed.

GAS Prices I have found (and endured) with level of dollar values:

Make a Custom order of a state-of-the-art(asking for a model they ain't making yet) through your trusted Dealer. Moderate to high

You can pay more for the same thing by walking into a local store and blindly placing the same order. High!

Always network! And even if someone goes a little lower you might want to work with someone YOU fell you can work with.

New release through same Dealer, same caveats. Moderate.

Used, via Ebay, Craigslist, OFC or other network - KNOW YOUR MARKET! Do your homework and trust knowledgable sources. The OFC has been very good this way. There are risks and there are ways to mitigate the risks. Low to moderate.

Buy broken, damaged, scratch/dent, Factory Refinished Condition or scuffed. Low to mid and if you don't mind it or can repair it you just got a flavor of Ice Cream for a good price.

Option "X" is to find an Adamas, 1537, Josh White or whatever that needs redoing and have the Factory tear into it.

There is one OFC Member who has a brand new 1537 for under $1500ish.

If your Adamas is broke, get it repaired. If it isn't but you want something different - get something different.

BTW - The Devil is in the details...

Yeah! What Woody said...

So, back to a previous question...
Is the top broken, or do just want a different color?

Thanks for the info guys. I have a friend that is looking to change the color of his adamas. The mothership said that they don't refinish to a different color so the top would have to be changed.

Just get a different guitar then, changing the color is too out there. This guitar and what it would cost to change will get him something pretty nice I'd think.

Krylon works too... Rustoleum. Or that enamel stuff for stove-tops is pretty indestructible!

Sears Goblin-green latex would be appropriate for St. Patty's day.

And, a little luck might rub off on ye. ;)

Change the color by replacing the top? Let someone else buy it that appreciates the original color and either find one that was made with your desired color or special/custom order one.
