Joined: August 2003 Posts: 2246 Location: Yucaipa, California | Thanks guys.... A lot of thought went into this decision, including the blinding realization that the Good Fairy Of Golden Opportunities And Fame knocked on my door while I was away on vacation and will never re-appear. I had to accept that my "Musical World" will consist of 1) Living Room Classical, 2) Periodic Church "Special Music" and 3) Convalescent Home Musical Programs. These will be my "claim to fame" (I truly wouldn't trade the Rest Home gigs for anything!). I have always used my two Balladeers (6&12) & banjo for these venues, but have been too afraid of damaging the Redwood (especially at the Rest Homes) to use it very much. As much as I loved it and it's very special "voice", it usually stayed at home while the others were played out. So, now I have guitars (and a banjo) that I can use whenever/wherever I need to and am no longer paranoid about damaging the Redwood... ...now all I have to do is remember what my Classical Guitar Teacher taught me 43 years ago!

I think you have a very healthy perspective when it comes to your instruments. One in which many of us here could learn from.

Seriously, I do like those Spanish classical guitars. See my gallery for an example. If I had known you were in the market, I could have brought one back for you for around $10,000. The cedar top does sound great on the classicals. I like my 1713 for that and I don't have to worry about scratching the back. Just as I found out I was playing a $10,000 guitar, I realized the zipper on my jacket was poking into the back.
