Wonder what it would cost to make this guitar right at the factory?

The repairs on this guitar are actually no big deal... 3 options.. Glue braces and refinish top.. Or replace the top but save the bowl and neck.. Thats the more expensive repair.. The quickest would be replace the top and blowl..

That last option would be the primary choice as right now, due to the building of the JW reissue, it would be no big deal to put on a new body.

But if I were going to do that, I'd probably just buy a JW reissue and have a full warranty.

The first option might be best for a bottomfeeder with some talent. I'm a bottomfeeder with no talent, so I'll pass.

Ya ILL aggree .. The new ones are nice..

At least saomebody save this from the trash compactor???? Think of it as an old AC Cobra.. The new body kits and up to date components are way better.. But the old ones fetch 250000$ . hahaha Oh nevermind!!!

I could see a certain person hand carrying it in...saving shipping cost; the authorized to do a $29.95 "Special".

Top and bowl...why? Will it play any better? Whoever does that is destroying the original instrument. So what if it has a few imperfections...check braces, seal and buff, ship from factory. Either a piece of history or, as suggested, buy a reissue.

Agreed. My latest refurbishment, a venerable (1981) Country Artist, wil carry a rather prominent "dueling scar", until the top totally collapses. Trust me, that won't be anytime soon.

Same here...I am a diehard vintage buff and as long as something doesn't detract greatly from playability and sound, I much prefer original to shiny-perfect.

Case in point, here is a pic of my fugly old '62 strat. Far from perfect to look at but would I trade it for a new one? No way.

Actually, its not bad, Wayne. Somebody had good painting skills, and a steady hand. I should be so blessed.........

Nice trash!

For your sake, I hope this was for real.
