Question for you guys gigging with these. Are you using a plug in the sound hole or not?

And on another note, I was checking out Daves' Tak site and see several new owners listed. This puts the tally at about 10 of these owned by OFC members. Incredible.

I played out with it once (one song) and just opened the case, plugged it in the house PA and started playing. No feedback issues. It was a medium pub sized PA with stage monitors. I was told the guitar sounded really good. Someone suggested I play more instrumentals, not sure what THAT meant ...

I'm not sure I understand your question, Colt, but if you're asking if I cover up the sound hole, my answer is never, and I always play plugged in.

A FeedbackBuster isn't really necessary unless you're playing at really loud levels with other instruments (especially loud bass players).

Thanks guys. I may try a jam tomorrow and didn't want to have problems with it.

PBB, sorry. I should have worded that more gooder.

That's not a bad thing. I've had people ask me to put the guitar down and go rearrange my sock drawer....

I don't think you heard it right, and I don't think "sock" was the correct word in the sentence . . .

I've used the 75 and the EF340BG (same pickup/preamp system) many times just plugged into the house PA. No problems with feedback as long as all the stuff was set right and I wasn't in front of a speaker, all the usual stuff.
The only bitch I have is there is no volume control so I have to rely on the sound guy. Debanjo usues a volume pedal with his, not a bad idea.

To answer the question, the holes are not plugged.

Bill, Have you seen those passive volume jacks? I forget who makes them. It's about 2 inches long with a 1/4 male on one end and a 1/4 female hole jack on the other. There's a little "thumbwheel" volume knob on it. You plug it into your endpin, then plug the cable into the other end of it, and you've got a volume knob right there. Dave

Thanks Bill. The volume thing has been turning over in my mind too.

Dave, that's sounds like a neat gizmo. Any idea on cost and where they can be bought?

I've been using my Trace as a stage monitor with the XLR out to the house board. I can control what I hear which is really all I care about. The sound guy knows what he is doing and I trust he is getting it right. His only complaint is the bass player's volume (who also uses his bass amp as a stage monitor).

Yeah, I've brought an amp and gone line out from that too and it works. I would tend to do that if I was more worried about the tone. It does make another piece of gear you have to carry.
Dave, thanks for the idea of the endpin jack. I may get one or a volume pedal, either one can get thrown into the breifcase size "gig-bag" that carries the cords, extra strings strap etc.
