Obsessive Compulsive?
I just did the arithmetic...
I bought seven guitars in six months.

All since I since I started frequenting this board.

Well, I bought the 4861.
Then I visited here for advice.
The rest is History! And I\'m really thinking about THIS ONE! :p

You'll notice they photoshoped or removed the Made in Korea/China/wherever sticker.

Manipulated photo (As is on website, except where I pointed out the manipulation)

Unmanipulated photo (enlarged from original off website)

I just don't want you to be duped into thinking it is a USA model.

BeatleJuice53 isn't a guitar collector.
He runs a shelter for homeless and wayward
guitars.....for the tax credit of course :)

It appears they also went out of their way to hide
the sticker inside with the model number and other
important information. (I used photshop to investigate, the sound holes are solid black, no shadowing as one would expect.)

Gee, and I thought Brother Bobby was supposed to be a stand-up guy!?!

First! THANK Y'ALL FOR THE WARNING.
I have a CC44, which is basically the same thing. I was just looking... Pretty wood, Op-Pro...

Now to the disappointment...
On one of the rear-view photos you can see the sticker. On the close-up it is missing. Add to that the blackout holes, and it do look like intentional deception.
Still, $638 ain't THAT bad for a Brand New Chinese Ultra...
So Why Lie?

I got my CC44 for $419, free shipping. And they just sent me $40 cuz I found a little crack in my case! [Yeah! Awesomely Nice Seller!] Oh yeah, it came with a case.
I am quite satisfied with my Celebrity(s), and Korean Balladeer. No sleaze involved.
When I got the CC, I looked at Black, Blue, Waterfall Bubinga, Bear Claw Maple and other fancy stuff... I just happened to be looking at that cuz it is Purdy! I just decided on the Natural to go along with the other two.

But that PhotoShop trick is pretty sleazy.

No no... My next guitar is probably a ways away.
A 1718, or something similar. Or an Old, Cheap USO Balladeer.

I'm just real disappointed by the Sleaze...
I read the fine print later, and noticed the "Five Year Warranty"!
Waydda minnut! My CC came with a five year warranty, and it's a Celebrity.
Then today I came home and read this thread.

[I have a REAL job! I can't play online at work!]

I am on another forum, and we pride ourselves on
warning our fellow forum members on sleazy deals.
I guess I just got so used to looking for the scam.
anyway glad I could be of service.

With due diligence, wise selection, and proper care/storage, its better than money in the bank: besides, you get to play 'em whenever you want! Call 'em art, call 'em tools, call me crazy, I've been addicted for 40 years...

Music Mike... Remember:

Better than money will get you through times of no guitar!

Or what that something else?

For me, I have 16 guitars. I guess any more than three, then your collecting. I find that guitars are like shoes...you would not attempt a basketball game in new black dress Florsheims...but it could be done. You would not want to attempt an Classical recital with a Telecaster...but it could be done. We all have more than one pair of shoes...all for different purposes. I find that I play somewhat different on each guitar I have. Could we survive on one guitar? Oh yeah, the great names always have: look at Ed Bickert, the Jazz great enjoying 50+ years on his Tele. Willie on his Martin "Trigger" and Paul on his Hofner Bass (although now it being a novelty). Few things are as enjoyable as playing my Rickenbacker for a whole week, then getting a mood swing to make me get into my Adamas II 12 for another week. I prefer to hang them all in my basement a la Smithsonian. This allows me to enjoy their looks (let's face it, not like trumpets, gutiars have character), have OTHERS enjoy their looks, and the fact that they are not in their cases...I play them. I am always on a mission to buy a guitar that I know would round-out the collection and offer me yet another avenue of playing character. My next purchase will be a 1983 Ovation Collector (yeah I know about the one on gbase right now) because each time I play one, something connects...I can't identify why. I do not consider that guitar all that good looking nor would we consider it to be a valuable piece...ever, but it is unlike anything else in my collection. Anyway, I'll post a collection of my guitar family when I can get them all together.
