looks like I'm to be the new owner of a Nakao Elite,

as to how long I'll be able to keep it after it gets here remains to be seen as we have some unforeseen, emergency medical bills...

at least I'll get to strum it a time or two.

the wife's diabetes and pckd has progressed into PAD, and now has to have surgery to clear aortic blockage... may lose a toe..possibly the whole left foot, we'll know more in the next couple of days.

Glenn,

Best, and I mean BEST, of luck to you and especially your wife. If it helps, I said a prayer for her right after I read your last post.

It is not just Ovation that is cheap right now. I see a lot of guitars that are 6 to a year old selling for 50% of discounted retail on ebay. Don't know what that is saying. Must be tuffer times than Wall Street would lead you to believe. Or interests are changing.

Thanks guys/gals and friends. just got back from the hospital and getting her settled in.. surgery is scheduled for wednesday, more tests tomorrow. with all of her pre-existing conditions she's pretty much uninsurable, and most of this is coming out-of-pocket, making all kinds of deals and bargains with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, hosp, etc...

may have to thin the herd soon tho...

Thanks for the support all.

Glenn, I talked to a friend of mine this morning.Hes going through some of the same things as your wife. He plays music for a living and while he no longer drinks he really does not take care of himself, late nites etc. He now has pain in his hands and that is tough being a guitar player by trade. My thoughts and prayers, Ronnie

Glenn - I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. We'll be saying a prayer for her as well. We're going through something similar with my father in law.

Interesting I see the Bass is gone with BIN but it says there is no bidder?? does the counter show there is a one bidder when you use BIN??
I am curious because I still am thinking of letting the 5 string Elite Bass I have go for less than this one went for. I am wondering if anyone would think this auction was legit?? If so; perhaps it is time to try and run mine again.

Nice bunch of guitars there

First off, my thoughts and prayers to you and your wife Glenn. I hope this difficult time has a favourable outcome.

Secondly, er.. uhm... the bidder on the 84 Collectors was me. (I've been away for a little while). The seller originally didn't want to ship to the UK, but I talked him into it. The guitar is for a very good friend; I already have an 84C, and he has admired it greatly every time he sees it. I caught this little orphan when surfing, and pointed it out to him. Too good to let pass! Now it's on its way. I reckon I can sort out the crack (having just repaired my 1758; it's not difficult), and will shortly be chasing Paul T to enquire if he has any ebony buttons. The missing headstock ear? Reckon we'll have to live with that. I'll let you all know.

The 84C is here. It's been around the block a little, but sounds just great. Dave's right. A good time to be a buyer.
