Paul

I am very happy to know you. I feel that we have become fast friends over the past 6 years. It is incredible how the time flies.

I think of how when this message board was opened you were one of the first guys to join us and offer your knowledge and expertise. For this I will be eternally grateful.

Now we are a week away from yet another get together and Ovation Open House. All the old stories will be flowing along with the wine beer and other spirits. New bonds will be made and old renewed. Wonderful music will fill the air and I am sure a smile will be on the faces of all that attend.

That said I have one request. And only one. Please and I beg you don't tell the Townes van zandt story another time. If I hear it I will slit my wrists.

Sincerely
al

paul,
but maybe you can post the story here on the forum pages so that those of us who never heard it can.

(not that the written evidence will be used against you in a court of law in the event of al's demise.)

Inquiring minds want to know.

Temp, I know how you can satisfy Al and the rest of us. Email it to me, and I'll post it once a week for the rest of my life.

It's possible that this is one of those stories that require the teller to drink a bottle of tequila before he remembers it. This would explain why he tells it every time he meets al.

on the other hand, "the rest of my life" might not be very long. al's from jersey, if you catch my drift.

Be afraid. It's probably already too late.

Randy - you send me 2 pounds a coffee a week and I'll take care of Al. Call it protection services.. if you catch my drift.

Jas I think a cartoon of the story would be more appropriate. Remember the saying "A picture is worth 1000 words." ;) :p :)

I won't I promise. I can tell the Jimmy Buffet/cocaine smuggling/pub/prison story instead if you like, it's about 4 times longer.

Paul;

I honestly think that you should narrate that (Buffett) story into a PodCast . . .

Maybe you could make it into the Townes Van Buffet picture story, with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each.
