I'm looking forward to meeting all of the characters in this ongoing soap opera known as the OFC. I'm looking forward to playing a couple of guitars that I'll probably never own.

I'm going in with an open mind and a closed wallet and hoping that doesn't reverse itself!

I guess i qualify as a newbie. It will be my first time down but i only got my first O back in November !!

I'll bring a friend of mine along for the ride, he's a big Fender fan but was really impressed with the 1778LX when he tried it.... :)

And i'll bring some "real" beer along for the ride. Should make it to the hotel around 6 PM thursday night. I'm really looking forward to meet a lot of you and try some other O's and especially some A's since i had to pass up on Stephent28's UTE....i'm still pissed about it, but i have to finish the bathroom's plumbing before the lady lets me go !!

Can't wait to be there,
Yves

This will be my 1st tour, and I can't wait! I couldn't play a song to save my life, so I'm hoping to just soak it all in and enjoy watching the folks with actual talent.

I'm looking forward to meeting people, trying out tons of guitars, and watching the Ovation and Hamer magicians turn piles of raw materials into amazing instruments.

My Redwood is at the mothership for spot removal... I was tardy in sending it in, so not sure if it will be playable by the time we get there...

Expectations? I expect the guys sitting next to me on the plane will have spent half as much as I did for their tickets.

Fears? acute GAS, of course!

From what I hear we have more signed up this year that the previous two.
On the downside we'll all really miss a couple of the regulars..... maybe.... if we have the time.... ;)

Hello Yves. I used to reside and attend college just south of the border from you. I frequented Montreal a lot back then, cos it was a heck of a lot closer than NYC, "big" city-wise. I still remember how fun it was to get lost there, and whenever that happens, I just do the best I can to find my way back to the intersection of University and Renee-Levesque ... then I know I'm not lost anymore :D

My wife and I went to Vancouver Island for our honeymoon, and have visited the Butchart Gardens among many things. What is the ROC?

ROC = Rest of Canada, usually anything west of the Rockies, if i understand this correctly.

ROC means anywhere in Canada besides Toronto (The centre of the universe for anyone living there)

Yes, its my first time: I am thankful for:
1. My dear wife allowing me to attend even thought she is staying home with our two children 4 1/2 and 4 months;
2. for being able to get an afordable rate for my flight;
3. being able to meet all the folks I've sort of come to know over the past several months (even though I have been a member for years, I just started posting several months ago);
4. For the Ovation Factory and Kaman Corp. for putting their fine instruments into the hands of the worlds players for all these years;
5. God for giving me the ability and patience to learn a skill that has paid the bills and been my constant companion for 40 years now this month

Brad, you failed to mention that it is customary for Newbies wear their underwear over their pants at their first Factory tour.
UUUUUHHHHHH..............NO! :cool: :D :cool:

I will really miss the Canadian-French trying to teach the European French how to speak Francias!

Probably as much fun as it has been for us Yanks to teach the Brits how to speak Anglish!

As an acclimated native of Worshington State I feel overly qualified to moderate.

Y'all are going to have a wonderful time bonding with each other. Everyone should come away with a better sense of community and an appreciation that we all don't live in the same town!

It will be fun. :D

But I sincerely regret that you and some other members can't be with us for the Tour.
I will be so happy to meet you all!!
Maybe next year or before if you come to France... ;)

This will be my first tour, as well. I'm looking forward to meeting one or two (dozen) of you in person. I'm afraid T28 will show up with the palm tree uke and I'll buy it back. Wait, no, I'm not afraid of that. I'm afraid that SWMBO will take a couple of rounds out of me if I come home with anything more than I left with. ;)
