The PNW thread is dropping out of sight, so I thought I'd start a new one. If Greg doesn't mind driving out to the sticks, lets meet up somewhere near Hillsboro. I'm taking my folks out to dinner and any of the suggestions Greg or Dave made will work fine. I agree that the CRH will be a zoo and I'd prefer someplace quieter. Don't know if you could find a place where I could try out any of your guitars that you might want to bring along, but that would work nice for me. We could sit out on my parents back porch and play. My mom would approve, but my dad has kind of a tin ear.
I don't think my folks have internet access, so I'll check back on the board Tomorrow night one last time. Otherwise, I have Greg and Dave's phone numbers and might try to call when I get there. Arthur, Waskel and any of the others in the area are sure welcome and I'm buying the first round. That means beer. My wife won't let me buy any more guitars.

Crap, we're talkin' this Friday??? I thought we were talking about the Friday before the official gathering! Hmm.. I need to check with the social director. On short notice, I'd recommend Rock Creek Tavern or the Grand Lodge in Forest Grove. Both have lots of outdoor seating if the weather holds. RCT is less "stickish" for Greg, although once you clear 185th on the Sunset, either are smooth sailing commute-wise.

Yes David THIS Friday. I suggest we try the Helvatia Tavern or Rock Creek. They both have outdoor seating as i remember. Being a Friday they'll both probably be busy, but you can't avoid that no matter where you go.

I'm not familiar with the Grand Lodge -- i've only been there once. However it's not too far for me if it's suitable. Anywhere where there is outdoor seating is fine with me -- weather permitting of course. Mark, i'm not sure of your schedule, but since you have the your parents to accomodate i suggest you set the agenda. I'm pretty flexible, and if it's 7ish i can probably get Sheri to come along too.

So i need a time and place. I'll bring the Tak EF-417. If you'd like me to bring the 1547 or the 1581 i can do that too. Only other guitars i'd like you guys to check out are electric which isn't quite appropriate.

Of course, i can certainly host a gathering as well. Really, i'm used to cooking for any number of people. So that's an option. I only need to know how many are coming and at what time. :)

OK, I'm in. Looks like Rock Creek Tavern is the common denominator, let's go with that. It'll be a PNW Micro(brew) Gathering...

RCT on Google Maps for those needing directions

Mark, you name the time. My cell phone # ends in 1642, if that's the one you've got for me, feel free to call with any changes of plan once you hit town and I'll get the word out here.

UPS is dropping off my redwood today minty fresh from the factory, I'll bring that. I'll also bring Greg's 1674. I haven't played/practiced in months, so I'll be "supervising" any jams.

Anybody else in other than Greg, Mark, and myself?

Greg, I'd like you to bring the 1581 if you don't mind and I look forward to seeing dvd's refurbed (again) Redwood. I'll pick a time. I suspect it will be fairly early, since my parents will want to eat by 7 or so.

Done -- I'll even put a fresh set of EJ16's on it. We'll wait for the time announcement.

We better be careful bringing a bunch of guitars into RCT, people might think we are the entertainment, Celilo :D

I will be there by 6:30. I'll try to wear my T-shirt from last year, so you'll recognize me. Or you could look at your T-shirts to refresh your recollection. The likenesses are uncanny.
Ute or 30th CL? I know I had the Ute up there last year, but the action is lower and it's got a fresh set of strings now. Anything else on the list is fine and I might have room for 2.
If someone wants to stay for the real entertainment, I'm game. My wife might have to take my folks back, but I'd stay if I can bum a ride back.

Mark, happy to drop you off if needbe, you'll be on my way home. Unless Greg has a preference, bring what you want to play, or come empty handed and play ours. just pulled the redwood out of the case and it's better than new!

There will be little space for playing would be my guess. So save some space Mark and just come by yourself. I'm just happy to get back together over a beer.

See you guys tonight!

Well, a great time was had by all. Not really any jamming, just sharing dinner and drinks with Greg, Sheri, and Mark and his family. A little noodling with each other's guitars. Definitely lots of fun and I hope we can do it again.

Greg and I traded guitars for a few weeks.. I look forward to his report on the redwood after he's had a few days with it.

Thanks everybody!

PS: For Sheri, it's the Medium/15" Skivvy computer bag from Crumpler .

Oh, and sure enough, while we were "loading out" Greg's and my "kit", the entertainment was loading in. A few perplexed looks, and one of them asked if we'd just finished a gig.

I thought about telling them that we were playing tonight and were just changing guitars after a sound check. :)

Indeed it was good to see you folks again. thanks to Mark for looking us up while he was in town.

Have a great vacation Dave.

And Mark, enjoy the drive!

Do any of you Portland folks know of a band called "Sneakin' Out"? They friends of mine, and are amazing musicians. If you get a chance, check 'em out.

Just got back to Boise. We had a great time. I enjoyed drooling over other Ovations as usual and beer and dinner at a new place. It's a couple hundred yards from where my brother is building a house, so I'll probably be a regular soon.
Great weather for our Friday get together and the wedding the next day. A couple relatives who weren't there asked if I bought another guitar. It was just a pleasure to get out and meet some friends. Thanks.
