I bought an Elite 1758 many years ago (maybe 10) with a hard shell case for about $250.00. It is in wonderful condition and sounds like a symphony plugged into my chorus pedal and my small peavey sound system. People and other muscians marvel at the sound it produces and how beautiful it is. I just love it and want to insure it for the right amount (just in case). Can anyone tell me the how to find the date it was made and what it might be worth? All I can locate for numbers are the on tag stating 1758 and my local shops are unsure about a value .
Thanks to any and all!

Look inside the bowl behind the neck and you'll see a small rectangular sticker wit Ovation and some numbers: your serial number for the guitar: now go to reference on the left side of this page and look up your guitars serial numberand you can see the year made.
BTW, what color: I've got two: a -1 sunburst and a -6 white pearl...
Blessings!

Just below the Ovation label and towards the neck should be another tag with the Serial number on it. That is where it is on my 1758.

Then go to the reference section of this forum.
you should be able to find the year there. Mine is a 1989.

Hey Guys. Thanks for the info. S.N. is 457112. It is a 1992. It has the sunburst finish and still looks new. It is the most incredible acoustic guitar I have ever played. :)
The list when new was $1575.00. I guess I got the bargain of the century. :D
Has it not appreciated in value since being discontinued?
Anyway, thanks MusicMike and MikeW and have a great weekend. I have an old Jasmine that needs a little TLC and some playing. (It kind of gets left out since the ovation came along.)
Must be fate or Karma because I'm a Mike too.
Later,
Mike

First, save a picture (digital prefered) on your computer...nest, go to member access to the left of the screen here, third click on the Photo gallery button, fourth click on the gallery utility for dynamyt, fith follow the on screen process...you need to first size your pictures to something about 7.5 inches by 5.5 inches...
Now to post pic's in the message body, click on the pic in your gallery and left click; go to properties and click; go to address (url) and highlight the complete url (make sure you've got it all); click copy (of the highlighted url); go to the full reply form at the bottom of the message, and click it, go to image and click it; paste the copied url into the popup frame; and save it and you're done: when you are finished writing your message, it will process and reappear with your pic.
whew....blessings...
