This has a slightly different headstock and seems unfinished...is this a prototype or something that got pulled out of the dumpster at the factory?

Might be worth it depending on the factory expenses to have the bowl repaired, etc,..

I like the raw kevlar look!
Look closely at the bridge pic and you can see that the fabric has a little wave to it... where it is not quite perfectly straight.
So you slap a coupla knobs in it, and you're good to go!
[and to your non-O friends you can say,"Look not only is the bowl made outta plastic, the top is made outta Cloth!]

I know it's near impossible to tell by eye, but this looks like it "could" be a wideneck. Would probably be a very cool guitar to have. Sadly, my adamas budget is a little dried up right now ...

I think Witko is right, seems to be a 1 7/8ths nut width. But take a look at the "carving" on the front of the headstock, anyone seen one with those 3 lines before? Looks to be foam rather than carved walnut.

Somebody just added those extra three lines. It's a wood piece, you can't do that with the foam.
Looke like a normal grafite top that someone sanded the finish off. The bridge just has those brass pins rather than the normal end pins.
Can't tell about the width of the neck, looks like the original finish on it though.
The bowl looks repainted to be just black, none were done like that. And to have the logo plate on and just be unfinished. Maybe it left the factory when it was only partially completed (this would have happened at night) and the guy sanded down the top.
That's my guess.
Could be a nice guitar for someone.
I'd put it between 79 and 82 but I could be wrong.

Tony, the foam was 77 to 78 or 79. Didn't last long

Is it kinda like when you're working on an assembly line, and if the completed product doesn't make it quite all the way to the end...
It don't get inventoried, so it's not REALLY stealing.

yup I owned the guitar.

I bought a pile of guitars from the factory some time in the mid 90's and this was one of them. some were complete some not some I still have most are gone.

no the guitar was not stolen. well for what I sold it for you can say it was stolen.

I can't remember much about it except that it was incomplete it may have been a string test guitar or something like that. I think CWK is right with his date.

no finish on the top. can't remmber about the back. but it did sound and play well.
