I've watched every YouTube vid of his at least once. I consider him to be the best!

I would just like to approach the level of this gent:

Ah, found my NAUDO favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGnrRgiw_Wk&mode=related&search=

Gawd, what a rendition! This takes me back over 45 years when I was young, dumb and full of c__(rhymes). This was one of the few songs that could be danced slow or apart (depending on the 'partner').

Music...these are the times that will look back on fondly, fond that they are OVER! But the bonds that you establish now, will last a life time.
My wife and daughter are at the beach this week, I have to work, and the sound of silence in the house is almost unbearable. I couldn't sleep (too quiet) so I played some guitar and posted late last night.
I do get to see my Grandson today, so that will help. He's three, and a talking , running, ball O fire. Maybe I can sleep well tonight.. ;)

Happy Fourth to you and your family!

Jim

Ref: Classical Gas...
... and the guy next to Tommy is playing,(or at least holding), an Ovation.

I wonder what Mason Williams thinks of this clip?

And I thought Glen Campbell took Classical Gas to a whole different level. Good stuff.

I enjoyed the NAUDO clips, also.
Guys like that... their brains are just wired different than the rest of us.

I just checked out this video of him: Preston Reed Rainmaker
I don’t know, call me old; call me crazy, heck call me a cab, but this is Guitar music? A beautiful Custom Adamas guitar; and it’s used primarily for just slapping the body? I suppose Kaki King draws the same crowd...I much prefer to hear someone like Tommy Emmanuel actually PLAY the guitar...heck, the Celebrity’s launched from the trebuchet at the tour made true slapping sounds...At least when Tommy does precussion on the guitar it is done to supplement the music he's already made or is preparing to make...no offence to fans; just my opinion...perhaps there are more video's out there but after this one, I just didn't have the heart to search...but a really beautiful Adamas...
Blessings...

Thanks, Mike. The Boogie number he does is even more amazing to me. I think I'll buy some pans and take up baking.

...can you imagine sitting next to Tommy when he starts to do "his thing"? Preston had that "please let me escape while I have a chance" look on his face... sheesh... what a position to be in.
Certainly Preston can play, but to have to sit holding a guitar next to Tommy while he plays and then have him smile and indicate that you should join in.... yeah, right...beam me up Scotty...NOW!

I agree on the Preston Reed thing. Those strings are on there for a reason pal. lol. Still, he bangs his guitar better than I play mine! :D Never saw this Tommy Emmanuel guy before. WOW! Awesome. And what was that thing he was doing with his pinky finger? It looked like it was pushing strings down to make extra notes. Cool! Mine just kinda hangs out there. :(

That's a great clip. There are a bunch of TE versions of classical gas on You Tube.

I think this is my favorite:

Most of Preston's early stuff is fingerstyle, and alot of 12 string too..

Check out Preston's 'Overture' on the 12.

It's on youtube.

I also have the TAB, PM me if interested, i'll send it to you.

About 5-6 years ago I saw Lawrence Juber and Preston Reed together. They both did solo spots then played together. Reed's a good fingerstyle player.

The duct tape shows up on recent vids. This one's from last Sept:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDADBeETbW0

What's the plug on the soundhole all about? I thought the Matons he uses just have an internal mic, and whatever the plug is would seem to make things worse. ???
