I'd thought about that after seeing the inlaid epaulets and I think with them being so far off to the side that there would be little or no trade-off in sound or strength. Could look pretty cool too, having just a little rise and contoured edges. This way would solve any problem with the textured top as well. | ||

I also prefer the look of the raised ones to the inlaid ones even on the wood tops. To me the 1537 is much more attractive than the new Elites. If you don't like epi's on your Adamas, just take them off. Problem solved. | ||

Another idea would be to do a single-side with a solid/single piece of ebony on a black top. That way the epaulet wouldn't stand out as much, but still be there. I personally like the Epaulets. To me it looks like a bird's wing, and still very cool | ||
