Location: New South Wales, Australia | Can anyone tell me anything about them. I've heard that they stop or at least reduce feedback and I'm thinking about getting one to give it a try.
Apart from feedback reduction do they make any difference to the tone of the guitar when played through an amp? |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | What a coincidence. I used the 1581 at yesterday's service and, for the first time, received some feedback. It had something to do with the fact that the singers' individual mics were stolen earlier in the week (an $11,000 loss I am told) so they hooked up two others for the group. This created new harmonics or some other problem in the santuary because I noticed that now familiar A string feedback I more typically experience from the 1651 Legend round hole. When I got home, I tried stuffing all the holes on the 1581 with the little rubber feedback buster caps. I plugged up all the holes except the small hole on the end. It was a bit too large for the smallest feedback cap which I then had to fetch out of the bowl. Acoustically, it deadens the sound of course, but when plugged in, I couldn't hear any difference in the quality of sound, but I did notice that I could crank up the volume a bit more, which is what they claim to do. I tossed the caps into the gig bag so I would have them next time out. |

Location: south east Michigan | The only time I've had any feedback problem with an Ovation was with my UTE. Once it starts that textured top is like a tuning fork gone beserk.
I'm gonna have to get some of those plugs. |
