I read somewhere that he turned out not to be her brother at all, but rather, her husband! They kept it a secret from their fans.

Nice work, Al. I feel like we've all been in on this project from the start. Need any neon to adorn the walls?

"Born in New Haven, Connecticut, USA, (Richard Lynn on October 15, 1946, and Karen Anne on March 2, 1950), the Carpenter siblings moved with their parents Harold (1908-1988) and Agnes Carpenter (1915-1996) to California in 1963 and settled in the Los Angeles suburb of Downey, California." (quoted from Wikipedia)

And yes Al, nice work!

well just think how much better my guitar playing would be if I did not spend it as a carpenter, electrician, land scaper, plumber, painter, plasterer, etc etc etc

Yeah, but your place wouldn't be half as nice if you were a better guitar player!

at one point in my life I started collecting stringed instruments.
guitar bass mando banjo violin viola upright bass cello dulcimer mountain and hammer etc etc etc
I decided that if I was going to suck I should just suck on one instrument and sold most of the others off

Thanks for providing information on their relationship, Mike. You can't always believe what you read in Mad Magazine.
