Location: Leicestershire, UK | Sorry if this has already been covered - but how do you keep your ovation clean?
I have a black celebrity which seems to be permanently covered in smudges and an old legend in a sunbust type finish that could do with a real good cleaning.
Any recommendations? been looking on ebay at some guitar care products but thought I'd consult the experts in case you know of some mystic old wives tale type method of keeping your O nice and clean!?
Cheers! |

Location: Omaha, NE | I have some guitar polish stuff that I spray on and wipe off once in a while.
But its a losing cause. We rehearse in an un-airconditioned warehouse, and I switch back and forth between acoustic and electric. By the end of the day, they are both pretty gruddy. Any more, I just leave them like that and only clean them off before a gig. My electric is black and it looks like crap under the lights if its all smudged up. |

Location: Illinois, U.S.A. | Fender sells a microfiber cloth called Ultimate Wipe that is g-r-e-a-t for wiping off fingerprints and smudges. It won't leave swirl marks. You can buy small mist bottles of mild cleaner at most music stores that you spray on the cloth before the wipedown. Wiping the strings, too, removes the acids in sweat and helps prolong their life. |
