You can download this and use it as freeware or you can pay a very small fee ($40) and license it for non-commercial use. I think commercial use is about $100 (distribute more than 1000 copies of a song). Website will have exact details.
Is it as good as the $500-2000 DAW's? No, but it is getting there. This is a fantastic program that anyone interested in a good DAW should check out.
