Location: Scotland | Actually not very accurate at all. They're passive pickups, it's the circuitry that's active. Pull out the preamp and the pickups work just fine. No real explanation of the preamp and tone circuit, which were the real innovations of the design, and the "splitter" he refers to is not a coil-tap but a mid-range notch filter. Achieves pretty much the same result without losing the noise-rejection of the second coil. From the tortie guard this one was probably a tan version and has been stripped back and the headstock logo is a knockoff, so it's hardly "original" but you guys knew all that anyway. |

Yeah, Yeah, He may have been incorrect about a coupla points in his expose, but hey...
I don't know diddly about alot of technical or historical points, so I'm usually talking out my butt when I tell folks about Ovations too. :p
"Yeah, it looks different. Yeah it sounds different. Plug the sucker in!"
[I have a YouTube subscription to Next Level Guitars, but I missed that one. But I am looking for lessons when I'm there.] |

Corrections to any glaring technical errors can be nicely left in one or more follow-up responses. Video replies get a lot of attention. A video response by a knowledgeable source would be very appreciated and could be a good plug for OFC .... HUNDREDS of thousands of viewers may view that video in the next year or two |
