Location: New Jersey | Hi,
Can anyone here tell me what the difference would between a Balladeer and the 1769-ADII Custom Legend guitar?
I own a 20 year old Balladeer and I love it but the electronics don't work and I want something with newer electronics anyway.
Does the ADII really sound that much better than the Balladdeer? Does it play any easier?
I'm leaning towards the ADII becuae it just looks so cool and I've read so many good reviews of this guitar. But I'm wondering if I'm just buying the look and the name, or am I really getting a much better guitar than the Balladeer.
Would appreciate any feedback on this.
Thanks in advance,
Steve from NJ |

The custom legend ADII is LX so its scalloped bracing, the newest preamp and new neck system.
Not to mention the black custom Legend is visually stunning. You also have balanced line out so no direct box is needed. Any Ovation will play extremely well with a proper set up.
Yes its a better guitar, way more up to date.
I Have a Traditional 1719-5 Custom Legend arriving in 68 days. Evan that a substantial difference over the Balladeer.
Model 1769-ADII is worth the money. |

Location: Slightly northwest of Trader Jim | Hi Steve, I have a 83 balladeer,a 1661 and a ADII. My opinion is that the 1661 plays as easy as the ADII, and unplugged has more volume and depth of tone than the legand. However, if your plugged in most of the time, the legand wins hands down. If the electronics in the balladeer went bad, I would see if an upgrade was possible. ;) |
