I just learned of this...
George McCorkle, a founding member of The Marshall Tucker Band, succumbed to cancer June 29, 2007.

Wow, I had not heard this...my band used to do a bunch of MTB songs and I got to meet him during a gig at the Holiday Inn in Spartenburg SC in the early 80's...just another reminder that we are not getting any younger folks!
RIP George and thanks for the music!
