| Greetings,
I have been playing nylon strung guitars for about 50 years and recently spent five years going through 50, buying high and selling low while counting the loss as rent, enjoying the vast range of available instruments.
I had an ovation many years ago, but it was a bit wide for my taste & comfort. I've joined this forum because I recently ran across a steel string shallow bowl that I liked, and I'd like to buy one in nylon form. I'm thinking a "wanted" notice in the classifieds might be a good way of finding out what's available (but not yet sure how to place a classified).
I don't want to spend big money on my first buy and I'm considering both Ovation and Applause instruments. I'd prefer something not too old and something with either a spruce or cedar face.
Anyway, I've found you and hope you can help me find my way to shallow body nylon string guitar. Thank you for any consideration you may give my search. |

| So, how do I post a WANTED request on the classified? And, what shallow or super shallow nylon string guitars are available?? |

I'm sure one will be along shortly. In the meantime, can you clarify what you mean by "shallow" bowl? There are two types: a "super shallow" which feels remarkably like an electric guitar when used, and the original "shallow" bowl from several decades back which is similar to the moodern "mid-depth" bowl. |

Thank you addressing my questions. Either the shallow or the super shallow would suit my purpose. I know that the shallow bowls, particularly with nylon strings, will have a diminished acoustic presence, but they are fine for song writing and practice. The ovations I've played are really nice when electrified and the necks are just superb.
I'll keep looking and appreciate the experience represented in this forum.
Evan
PS: You have some beautiful guitars. |
