| Hello all!
I've been playing guitar as a hobby off and on for 14 years, was in a jazz band in High School, and have owned a few different guitars. My dad owns Martins which is what I started on and I bought myself a Grestch to play in the jazz band. I played a friends Fender for a while and decided I wanted an electric guitar but couldn't afford the Gibson Firebird I wanted so I build one myself with help from my dad and uncle. During Covid I got back into guitar and picked up an off brand 70s acoustic and really enjoyed it again.
I've always like Ovations but never had the chance to own one. I tried a few at Guitar Center but didn't fall in love. I did a lot of research and found a FD14 for sale online and decided to pick it up since they were limited production. It should be here next week and I'm very excited to play my new Ovation for the first time!
Thanks |

| The guitar arrived!
Got it unboxed and it looks pretty great. Slight blemishes on the surface but nothing major. It plays great and sounds better. Needs a new set of strings which I’ll get. Any recommendations?
Looking the the headstock I don’t see the number marking. On some others of the FD14 I saw a xx/50 on the headstock but I’m not seeing that. Serial number is 574069 any other way to know?
I’ll see if I can attach a few pictures.
Thanks.

| Date looks like 2003 which I believe is correct.
The inlay on the neck doesn’t seem like a standard feature. I’m not sure if someone can confirm that?

Location: Phoenix AZ | Original 50 lot run of FD14 did not have fretboard inlays. This was probably a subsequent batch or a one-off hence no xx/50 designation. |

| Interesting, I didn’t realize that was an option.
Thanks for the info. |
