I've played it a couple times.
It's a little too "quiet" for most of our gigs.
Thanks for reminding me t'dig it out for the solo stuff, tho . . .
Great Tune.

D'you ever listen to that Goodman Tribute CD that I gave you??

Clifford,

Yeah, it's in my rotation. There's some great stuff on that. I've been reading the Goodman biography "Facing The Music" and listening to a lot of his stuff. The dvd Live From Austin is outstanding (there are several of them on ebay and well worth the money) and I've been playing around with The Dutchman but have trouble making it thru the tune w/o crying. I'm probably more of a "City of New Orleans" kinda guy.

I was definitely thinking that you could do The Dutchman justice and that it should be a staple of your solo gigs.

Being an "L.A. boy", I think you should try "Face on the Cutting Room Floor" . . .

btw: (and you probably know this, but) The Dutchman isn't a Goodman tune . . .

Michael Smith's...... Goodman & Smith wrote together Elvis Imitators, and Smith wrote The Wonderful World of Sex. Both great tunes.....

Great DVD As Moody says. Highlights are "Banana Republic", "I can`t help falling in love", and a great song called "Talk Backwards".

I play it pretty regularly, mostly for my wife 'cause she likes it a lot.

One of my favorites as well.
