The project was always a labor of love for our brands, both Ovation and the OFC. But they take considerable time to put together, or least put together well, and time is something I run short of anymore. In an ideal world, I started asking for photos in early summer, although life can banjax even that kind of lead time very easily. Here's hoping the idea can be resurrected in the future.

Heck, anyone can throw together a Kinko-Fed-Ex calendar, but it would be awfully disheartening to take the shame of having the quality go into the dumper compared to yours. Your painstaking workmanship clearly showed in the product, and would definitely be tough act to follow.

Like I said, it was fun, and as cliched as it sounds, it was also a bit of a labor of love, or at least loyalty. I mentioned it in detail the first time Fender shut things down: No other company would have indulged the whims of a nobody social worker like me the way John and Kim , and by extension Ovation, did. There is no way I could have assembled a collection of guitars as I now possess without them. I felt liked I owed them a little bit, and some of that dedication worked its way into the calendars. It's gonna be an honest and strange distraction not seeing one on the wall come January.
