Adamas 1598 dips and a ridge to top of body - sign of a bigger issue?

Unfortunately I've noticed there are a couple of dips to the carbon fibre top under the strings near the bridge, and one raised area you can just feel with your fingertips on the body - this can only be seen with light reflecting off it. There is nothing wrong with the clearcoat. Obviously I've paid for the guitar and this wasn't mentioned, I am trying to find out if it is a finish flaw that I should get over OR if it is a sign that there might be something wrong with the guitar? Someone has said it could be dryness, would sitting in a case do it as apparently the guy who owned it died a while ago so it hasn't been played. I just want to make sure that I've not bought a lemon! Any advice appreciated! Thanks! Joined: March 2008 Posts: 9 Location: UK | Hi Dan, I only noticed some of it after tuning it up to standard, I then decided to drop it a full step. So I would say some of it may be worse when tuned up but some was visible when the strings were slackened off for shipping. Thanks for your replies here and on Facebook. I think I will go back to the seller and say I'm happy to keep but I'm not sure it is 100% as sold as it isn't perfect as described and I wouldn't have paid as much if I had been told about the top. Hopefully that sounds fair!

The braces of my Adamas 1688 12string are not even half the size. I´m sure that the problem is only the shiny surface. Every 12 string guitar shows some strange moves on the top when it´s in tune and my wood-topped 12 strings are even more different in shape in every season. In general it is always good to de-tune a 12string a bit, I recommend one halfstep. This will extend the lifespan of the high G string.
