Hi All,
I'm new to the OFC and was wondering if there were any Acoustic Jams in the Hartford CT area
that I could get involved with. I've been playing
for about 6 years now and enjoy Acoustic rock as my main preference

I thought Black Eyed Sally's had an open mic night. Not really familiar with the htfd area. There seem to be more of these in the summer but I might be wrong on that.

Mauvais Beal,
Thanks for the quick response. I do Know about
B.E.S's But I was looking more for a local Jam
as opposed to a "Open Mike". Thanks again

Are you looking for something like this:

Check out the jam for tuesdays. A lot of rock songs can be made country or bluegrass, like CCR easily, Ramones or Pink Floyd.

Also, some open mics are "low-key" so keep an eye out.

If we have people interest in a Hartford acoustic
open mic or Jam, I likily can get one going if we have enough intersted to sustain one.
I know of at least 2 South End Bars who might be interested. I have a PA and can host.
10 or 12 players who will be regulars till its established would be needed.

Ok, being the "new" guy, who is "Keller"? I will
assume he is from the Hartford, Ct area.
Pez, Wouldn't I bring my Ovation?? I thought that's what this club was all about?

Keller is somewhat of an "inside joke" around here (in more ways than one) . . .

Stick around here & hang out for a while & you'll learn more about him(some MORE than you wanna' know).

. . . an' don't worry about finding him.
If he wants t'be "found", he'll find you . . .

Sounds like PEZ'd be a good guy for you t'hook-up with.

btw; Welcome to th'Board.

Put your Guitar in it's case, go out to UConn and look for other folks with guitar cases.
Start at the Student Center (read bulletin-board while there) and head toward the Music Dept. Nice weather would help.

[Just a suggestion-- I've never been to UConn, but it works at most Universities in Boston, Berkeley, Austin and Humboldt County  ]

Oh, I get it, pick on the new guy! (LOL)
I actually played at UCONN last Friday with a
couple of friends at Whitney Hall. This guy we know puts on what he calls a "coffeehouse" for the students. Free "snacks", coffee and soda. A few of the students played to. It was a nice time but
man, did I feel old!!
