I wrote this song to do at gigs bck when The Donald was having marital problems and I had a lot of fun with it. I stopped doing it because nobody remembered who Marla Maples was, nor the convoluted chronology of that on-again off-again episode. I was wondering if some here who are better, more imaginative lyricists could come up with a more current bimbo that we could rework into the story. It's a standard blues progression. Anyone wants to hijack it, that's fine. It's not exactly the original idea of the last millennium.

BLUES FOR MISS MARLA

Well I woke up this mornin I put the news on the TV
Yeah I woke up this mornin I put the news on the TV
Donald Trump broke up with Marla Maples
Gotta take that woman home with me

So I jumped into my Pinto I drove to New York
Yeah, I jumped into my nineteen seventy two yellow Pinto
Drove on up to New York
Found my baby's townhouse
Knocked upon her door

I said I feel for you, woman yo' man have done you wrong
I said I feel for you, mama yo' man have done you so wrong
But I'm here now for you, baby
You won't be lonely for long

She looked at me once
She looked at me twice
Looked over at my car
Said, "Let me give you some advice
You a nobody mister
And goin' no wheres fast
And when I find myself a new man
He gonna have him lotsa cash"

(Break)

Well I woke another mornin
Got no cause to sing the blues
Yeah I woke another mornin
Wit no cause to sing the blues
See The Donald got his dee-vorce
And now Ivanna's on the loose

Heck, I'll take a shot at this.

Well I woke up this mornin, put the tube on ET.
Yeah I woke up this mornin, ain’t there somethin’ new to see?
Another broken hearted starlet.
Would she come home with me?

I jumped into my Pinto drove over to LA.
Yeah, it’s still running Pinto. Blessed the tank and I prayed.
Snuck in with the gardeners.
Here’s what I had to say.

“I feel for you, woman. Don’t slam the door yet.”
“Jump in my car baby, the ol’ carpet’s still red.”
“I'm your trump card pretty baby.”
“Choose your heart, not your head.”

She looked at me once.
She looked at me twice.
Looked over at the Pinto,
Said, "Let me give you some advice
You a nobody mister
And goin' nowhere fast
And when I find my new man
Gonna have him lotsa cash"

(Break)

The cameras started clickin’. “Entertainment’s” here today.
They gave me lots of money for what I had to say.
Now baby wants me badly.
Get the hell outta my way.

Well I woke up this mornin, put the tube on ET.
Yeah I woke up this mornin, ain’t there somethin’ new to see?
Counting money in my Pinto.
Hey look at that! That’s me!

Kinda a botched surgery but it was fun trying.

With a way better result than I obtained. Thanks, Starchild.
