Location: When?? | I once read a statistic where there have been over 7 Stratocaster knock-offs sold for every one actual Strat ever built. As for Gibsons, I would think (guess) the Les Pauls have outsold the SGs. I've had both, so I cancel myself out.

Celebrity guitars.
I have no proof, but I am pretty sure that there are more Celebrity guitars than USO's.
So, the original "plan" to create Ovation knock-offs before anyone else did was successful.
Most "Popular" Adamas?
I would say the 1681.
But I see a LOT of 1597, W597, and Melissa Etheridge ME's, on eBay.

Yeah, good point. Have your cousin imitate you before anyone else does. Keep it in the family.
As for USA Ovations, I think that a sales-per-model cross-ratio would be quite important in determining the most "popular" seller since Ovation's descendant pedigree chart is pretty wide reaching (legend begats custom legend.. balladeer begats custom balladeer, and so on.) In other words, the biggest overall seller in numbers probably isn't really huge numbers ahead of #2, which isn't really all that far ahead of #3, and so on.

Location: Muenster/Germany | Like so many other companies Ovation has frittered with dozens of model variations ( just like Martin guitar in the last years...), but I would estimate that most of the US Ovations were Legends. |

Location: Texas | I would guess that the most popular Ovation was the Balladeer. Before the Asian invasion, it was your entry point guitar, I think.
