Hi everyone,
I have a older Balladeer and last year I bought a Custom Elite, so you can tell I like Ovation guitars.
I am looking to buy a nylon guitar now and am considering this:
Applause® Balladeer® Plus-Spruce-AB24CIIP-SPR. I was hoping to get some feedback
on how this guitar compares to the current Ovation nylon guitars, Elite and the Legend.

Ovation does not make a nylon string guitar in their current USA line up
The import guitars have a big bang for the buck
I would look for a usa built guitar used

Just buy a Used Ovation 1624.
Not to sound snobbish, but not many members of the OFC actually play Applause guitars.
Damon (one of our members) was Selling a bunch of Applause guitars, and he said that the current crop of Applause guitars are "NICE". That the new owners of Ovation had really made some nice new Import guitars.
Also these guitars are relatively inexpensive.
Not to encourage bad behavior...
But you can always buy one from a Mega-dealer with a return policy, and return it if you do not like it.
Personally, I was hoping for a definitive answer because I often think of trying Nylon strings.

Not sure what wasn't answered, but I'll give it a whirl.. Unless you are willing to spend $700-$1000 for a used Ovation nylon string guitar, I'd at least give the Applause a try. It's new and has a warranty at least long enough to take it for a test drive. Of course, any of the used similar guitars from Ovation at 3 times the price are going to be built with better materials, pre-amp and such as one would expect. But for $300 I'll go out on a limb and say it's unlikely you will find a better built and sounding nylon string guitar for $300. Hope that helps.
