Location: When?? | Somewhere I have a tape of this whole show that a friend gave me in, I think, 2000. I recall it was broadcast Beta and had time code on it, so I'm not sure of its origin, but she knew I liked Ovations and sent it over. I believe it was my first introduction to Shakira. Anyway, in the "A New Chapter" thread there's a discussion about product exposure of years past.. so I found a few clips of the same show on YouTube and this is the best one for O spotting. Have a look and see how many you can count on stage. There's a trick answer to that, but I'll give it later. In the meantime...

Location: Frozen Tundra of Minnesota | I Love Shakira and have several of her CD's! She has such a unique voice, and Boy Howdy! can that girl MOVE!
It is like she is double jointed in her hips! (Hip's don't Lie)
I counted 4, 3 being played on stage and a 12 string leaning up against the Organ/Piano front.
Great Song, Great Ovations! Thank You Love!

Location: When?? | Hey Nancy! Me, too. Her music, beauty and performance quality are over the top.. and the incredible things she has accomplished outside of her musical career with what clicks inside that hyper-educated brain and endearing heart never cease to amaze me even more.
As for the count of O's.... your're well on your way, but still not there. Look closer. |

I would say that if you can Play Guitar and Sing and it sounds nice, you are doing Fine.
Many people have made a career on four chords and a capo.

Shakira's Legend
Guitarist stage right '94 Collector's
Behind on stand another Black Legend? (barely visible)
Bass - '96 Ltd. Book Elite Bass?
In front of the Keys Black Elite 12-string (maybe a W598 Adamas...barely visible from another video)
So a total of 5? |

Location: When?? | We have a winner!! Yes, Arumako.. you accounted for all five sheep.. err.. Ovations.. on the stage during that song's performance. Three being played and two on stands.
However.. the trick answer is that there were actually seven Ovations on stage. You just couldn't see two of them since they were parked out of view, though could be seen played during other songs in the show. One was a natural Elite 6-string played by the male backup singer, and the other was an Ovation mandolin played in just one song. So there ya go.. seven Ovations in one Shakira show.
The end.
