Who can tell me what this is or where to find info on it? I searched the archives and came up with nada.

I saw this in an add for a '83 Custom Balladeer.

Thanks,

Blues

Johnny,

I found that on Dave's site. I also for some more info on Jerome's Ovation Tribute site.

No 'K-5' patterns seen thus far.

I guess what I really want to know is what it is similar to, 'A', 'X', "VT-8'?

On Jerome's site, if you look at this 1983 Ovation Information booklet regarding the Custom Balladeer, you'll see that the K-5 bracing is a modified A bracing pattern, but nothing more. I've never seen a picture of it...

"Modified A Bracing"

Paul,

Thanks for digging out that tidbit. I went looking for bracing diagrams without any luck. I hadn't started digging into the text of Ovation literature to find the answer.

I appreciate your response.

How stupid of me! I went looking for information all over the web for this and couldn't find anything! All I had to do was look right here in the OFC...duh!

Thanks to Dan Savage, the K-5 Bracing mystery is solved. Here is a clean shot of one that came on a '82 Custom Balladeer (1612)...

K-5 Bracing Pattern

Of course, the bridge bolts and wing nuts were not part of the original design! LOL! Thanks for the immaculate documentation Dan Savage! Cool!

For those interested; here's a link to Dan's Restoration right here:
