. . . with Flying Colours.

I was particularly enamoured with the little Tak with the "NewYorker"-sized body.

If y'like the acoustic guitar sound on a lot of the old JethroTull albums, . . . THIS is the guitar (other than the original Martin counterpart, naturally).

Very sweet guitar.

'course the Collings was no "slouch" either, just a different animal . . .

Spent about an hour with the VXT Koa last evening. I found the tone to be excellent, very similar to my recollection of what a normal spruce top model sounded like a few months ago, but without one against the other, I don't really have a reference point. The fell is superb. The sculpted back provides a contour which is extremely comfortable. Against all the other Ovation solid bodies, the VXT appears most similar to the UKii. I intend to A/B it against some of the other non-Ovation solids (three different Strats, a 52 Tele RI, a Jaguar, An LP Standard, and the LP Proto) in addition to the old Ovation solids. This should be fun!

When I refer to the similarity of the VXT and UKii, I mean in the body footprint. They are currently next to one another in the bandroom and the exterior body shape, other than the treble horn which is a bit more rounded on the VXT. The VXT also shares similar exterior dimensions with the EA Vipers. The case is the same for both (so says the tag on the end).
