| I finally got a Viper (yay!) and I've been doing some research. Read somewhere that they originally came with Ovation "2E Extra Light" strings, but I can't find anything that identifies what gauges those were.
It feels about right with 10s, but I'm curious what it would have been like originally. |

| I use 10's also. I had 9's on mine, and felt like that was too light. |

The extra lights were 9-44

| Thanks! I guess I have to scour the flea markets for an old 2E Extra Light package.
I found a picture online of a package from Kaman Performer Extra Lights: 9 11 15 25 35 44 -- I wonder if the 2E set had the same gauges??? |

No info on the gauges; looking at the list they could be 9s or 10s.
