Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Today, this came to me from Jukebox Joe.
Rumor has it this is the Prototype for the other Sweetwater T's.
This does not have the contour bowl of my other Sweet T.
These are not Twins... But they are brothers.
By serial numbers, the Mid-Depth is 5,076 guitars before my 2078T Sweet T.
Contour on the Left... Mid-Depth on the Right...
And both have Woody TRC's.
I took the Mid-Depth out on the street today. (50° No Rain)
Very comfortable bowl, and it sounds wonderful.
Thank You, Joe.

Location: south east Michigan | Hey there OMA... How bout a little history on your new guitar?. It used to be mine. One day I went into our local Mom & Pop store and the owner says... "I've got something for you"... They bought it right out of the Ovation sales rep's trunk. A year or so later Jukebox Joe wants to trade my mid-bowl Sweet T for a contour bowl Sweet T. He loved the guitar, but not the contour bowl. So... I made the deal.
There are times when I miss both of those guitars.
I'm glad they both found a good home.
.
And Joe... You're a hell-of-a talented performer. It's a shame you have to give it up. A real shame. |

Location: Miami | Thanks, Brad. I haven't stopped playing altogether, I just can't gig any more. I can still play on my back semi-comfortably with my supershallow guitar (the one I won).
On the bright side, Ive been meaning to record some original songs anyway so now I have the time to do it.
Thanks for recapping the interesting history of this guitar! |
