I realize this question has been asked, but the last thread I found on the subject was a few years old.  Perhaps it's time to revisit.

I have a 1115 and a 1117.  I'll be gigging later this year and would hate to not be able to play thiese fine guitars.  Using a microphone has its obvious drawbacks.  I'm looking for a removeable pickup that can be installed in the soundhole of either.  The Seymour Duncan SA-1 gets many mentions, as do various Fishman models.  The SD appeals because of the onboard volume control, but I'm sure there are many other considerations.

So, please, what are your preferences and experiences?

LR Baggs M1 is the best sounding one I've played with.

Check out my 1115 K&k pickup install thread. Great sound, doesn't affect the acoustic tone or playability and once installed you don't have to mess with it repeatedly. It doesn't need a preamp. My 1117 came with a undersaddle pickup someone installed. It needs a preamp, one more step in a spontaneous situation so I'll be checking into a K&K system that can work with the A bracing. The undersaddle sounds natural and also beats trying to put a magnetic pickup in a soundhole whenever you want to plug in. With the endpin output jack, the transducer systems don't have wires vibrating on the top, getting caught on things etc.....

Some have recommended K&K (or other brands) piezo pickup buttons.

(Choose your number of piezo buttons)
But with a passive system it will not affect the acoustic sound of your guitar.
With an external preamp or direct box you can tailor the tone/volume/etc.
This is a good option if you usually use your guitar acoustically, and don't want major modifications.

I think he's looking "for a removeable pickup that can be installed in the soundhole of either."

Yes. I'd like something I can switch around, though at less than $150 maybe I should get two...
